Friday Freebie...with Dr. Seuss and my Hubs and a coupon

hehe...yep. Here's more.

I have to tell you that I had every intention of sharing my webquest that I have done with my 2nd and 3rd graders.
BUT
Seussville has changed completely since last year so nothing on my webquest will work..lol.

Oh well.

So, I wanted to share with you my Tic-Tac-Toe board I do with my kids.

For my 3rd graders, I would give them just the week to finish it, but for my 2nd graders, I'll probably give them the month, since my author studies are a month long thing anyway.

Now, it says for THEM to read the books, but I always let them take AR quizzes on books I read to them too...I usually "encourage" them to read it again - especially my lower kids.

Also, I want to warn, while I know that every book on here is an AR quiz at our school, we have the internet version of AR, where we have EVERY book's quiz that is available on AR, not the version where our media specialist has to buy each quiz.

Soooo...since I know some of you don't have that as an option, you may not have all these as quizzes....OR your kids are too young to take the quizzes?? I'm thinking Kinders...and MAYBE some kids in first???

So I added a 2nd page that you can just get the parents to sign that the kids read the books, or that the parents have read it to them.

OH!...and it's kind differentiated. The bottom row is harder books that the top two rows, so if you want to "encourage" some kids to stick to a certain row, or you can challenge them and tell them they HAVE to do one from each row...up to you :)

Anyway....click  {HERE or HERE}  to get it. :)
**** I updated this file the next day to add in Reading Counts, so you may need to redownload it!

Don't forget about my other Seuss stuff in my TpT store!!

Ok, NOW I can FINALLY link up to How I Met My Hunny...with Chrissy B.!

So, when I moved to this town, I did not know one. single. person.

That's a lie.

I knew my parents. But they didn't live in this town, they lived 1/2 hour south of here.

So, when I got my teaching job, I was like, well, I might as well keep working at Friday's too (I had just moved from St. Augustine where I was teaching and working at Fridays up there too, so I could just transfer).

I worked there for about a year....

Now, I must preface by saying that I LOATHE it when people try to pick up a waitress or bartender...I think it's so obnoxious.

Anyway, one night while I was working, there was a table of 3 pretty good looking guys....they weren't my table, but they were sitting in my friend's section, and she HAPPENED to be friends with them.

I was like, "Hey Michelle....those guys are pretty cute! Especially "this" one." She smiled at me and then dragged my by my hand over to the table..."Hey guys, this is Jen!"

I'd like to say that I stood there carrying on a convo with them, but nope - that was pretty much it. I had to go tend to my job. :P Though I DID keep staring at him everytime I walked by to go to the kitchen...

And then POOF!

They were gone :(

So sad...but oh well. Another table of good looking guys come and gone.

But then I turned around and literally ran into one of them. SMACK! lol

"Hey, he has no idea I came back in here, but could I get your number for my boy Ron?"

Really?? How lame. Not only is he picking up a waitress, BUT he doesn't even have the guts to do it himself..lol!

But for whatever reason....I gave him my number to give to Ron.

That was July 1st.

He called the 3rd, our first date was the 5th, and our first kiss was the 7th.

Yes, I know those dates...you know why?? Because Ron told them to me one day...and I thought WOW! If he knows them, then I'm going to remember that he does! lol

And 3 1/2 LOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG years later (seriously, I almost left him bc he was taking so gosh darn long...lol.), we were married...in Jamaica!!!

ok, so now you know :)

If you haven't already, go link up! But I bet you have...I'm pretty late to the party! Boo....lol

OH!!!

Also, I wanted to share with you a great  coupon I just found!!

I print my centers up at Office Depot bc we don't have a color printer at school and ink jets make for a horrible print job (plus I would go through a cartridge before I even finished printing 1/2 my stuff!!

I found a 25% total printing purchase!!

Click HERE to get the coupon.

Add that with your teacher discount?? Sweet!!

Hi Jen:
Loved the "Hunny" story--and the pics!

And thanks for the OD coupon link. I'm fairly certain that my paychecks can be traced to Office Depot, Amazon, and Scholastic! (Well, okay, Starbucks too, but that fits under necessities!)

Thanks for the comment on my blog today. That made my heart happy!

Thanks for the Dr. Seuss Tic Tac Toe. I pinned it, because I know I'll save it and just forget about it if I don't! I love doing Dr. Seuss but I never seem to find time to fit it in with my third grades. This will definitely help.

Love your hunny story! :)

I love the TIc Tac Toe Dr. Seuss idea! We do not have AR at our school, but we have Reading Counts. I might try to make my own version that says RC instead of AR if that is okay with you!?!?!?!?
